Move over Coralista, there’s a new blusher in town! Coralista is my favourite but it’s just been replaced by the newly released Benefit Galifornia. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, well check out how gorgeous this is….

Benefit Galifornia is a golden pink powder blusher with Californian inspired packaging featuring a surfer girl. It comes complete with 5g of product, a mirror and the little rounded brush as shown in the pics above. Galifornia smells of pink grapefruit and vanilla. At first I thought the scent was peach. Whatever it is, I like it a lot. The powder itself has a layer of gold sprinkled over the top that disappears after the first few strokes. What’s left is a beautiful pigmented blusher that creates a sun-kissed coral glow and it’s perfect for my warm skin tone. It can be used to create a subtle look or built up and blended out for something more striking.  In terms of staying power, I’ve found that it lasts all day.

As well as using a blusher such as Galifornia, my daily makeup routine always includes Benefit Hoola. I put this just under my cheekbones, blend (using this brush here), then apply a blusher just above. The brushes that are included with Benefit powders are fab and I love the way they make my bronzer and blusher glide on. The brush with Galifornia is no different and overall this product gets a massive thumbs up from me. Will it be a permanent replacement for my beloved Coralista though? I’m not sure yet… I guess only time will tell. I’ll have to let you all know!

On a side note, while we’re on the subject of Benefit Hoola – I’ve noticed that there’s a new edition been released called Benefit Hoola Lite. You can check it out here. Interestingly this is being marketed at people with fair skin or as a finishing powder. As someone who is ridiculously pale and uses the original Hoola on a daily basis (it’s great as long as you blend, blend blend!) I’m totally intrigued. Please let me know if you’ve tried it or are planning to.

What do you think of Galifornia?

Isn’t it the prettiest blusher you’ve ever seen?

  • I love the packaging and the color looks pretty 🙂

  • Katie

Galifornia is so pretty, perfect for summer! I think Hoola is pretty good for my skin tone but for anyone fairer than me I can see why a lighter option would be intriguing!

    Beauty From Katie

    • I’m def going to try it, but I find Hoola so blendable that it can work with any skin tone. I know not everyone thinks the same though, so for ease of use maybe the lighter version is the way forward. X

  • Sarah Flint

  • such quirky and interesting packaging. The shade of the blush too looks good 🙂

    • Yes, I love how Benefit always create something a little different when it comes to packaging. x

  • sissy kat

    great shade !

  • It looks quite nice, but the packaging looks more gorgeous than the color or the blush itself! I don’t know, it feels we are paying more for their packaging than for the actual quality of the product

    • Have you tried it Lola? It is really good, honestly. Although I was sent this item, when it comes to beauty products I will always buy what works best. E.g I use Hoola every day and haven’t come across a cheaper alternative that works as well. Do you have any recommendations? : ) xxxx
