Ollie and I love going to Spain and over the past few years we’ve become obsessed with Marbella and Puerto Banus. My first visit was in 2009 and I went with the girls, where we stayed in a villa in the Banus mountains. The nightlife was fab and with lots of designer shops, amazing beaches and a marina thrown in for good measure I was smitten straight away. It was before TOWIE was a thing and everyone suddenly made a beeline for Marbs! The whole TOWIE/Marbs thing is kinda weird because everyone talks about partying in Marbella, but they actually mean Puerto Banus. If you’ve been there yourself you’ll get what I’m saying. For those that want to be right in the thick of it amongst the famous bars and clubs, it’s Puerto Banus that you want to go. Marbella is the next town on and a little less crazy. Then a bit further along there’s Mijas, which is where Ollie and I found the hidden gem El Oceano Beach Hotel….

Lunch on The Water-Front Terrace.
El Oceano Beach Hotel is a stunning place that’s located on the beach in-between Fuengirola and Marbella. It’s privately owned and from the minute we arrived they made us feel pretty special. Nothing was to much trouble and their attention to detail is second to none. We had an incredibly spacious Mini Suite room which included a balcony and a front sea view. It was also overlooking the sun lounging area and to the side we could see the pool.
Every morning we had breakfast in the Oceano Veranda Restaurant, which really is something else. It feels like you’re dining right in the middle of the ocean, and the views are absolutely beautiful. Lunch is served on The Water-Front Terrace, and again – just check at that scenery in the pic above! In the evening we dined in The Ocean Room, which has a really relaxing atmosphere and excellent entertainment. All three restuarants serve the most delicious, high quality food and the service is impeccable too.
Talking of food, there was also the most yummy chocolate by Mayan Monkey Mijas in our room. When it comes to hotels, I think it’s the attention to detail that counts and little things like this make a big difference to my day! Another thing I should mention is the miniature Elemis products that were replenished every afternoon. I absolutely adored these being a fan of this particular skincare brand. I doubt Ollie was bothered either way, but being a beauty blogger I thought this was fab!
I really loved our stay in El Oceano Beach Hotel, and my only regret was that I didn’t check out the spa! How I let that one slip through the net I’ll never know. If you would like to see more photos and reviews be sure to check it out on Trip Advisor here.
I hope you guys like it when I mix things up a bit with my travel posts. Let me know because there are a few more to come!
