I’m a massive fan of MAC yet I hardly ever talk about the brand on here which is crazy considering I use their makeup on a daily basis. I think it’s about time I shared the love, so I’m going to talk about some of my favourite products today….
Top – Bottom:
Eyebrow Pencil: Lingering.
Firstly let’s talk about my little Pro Palette. For those of you that don’t know, these are purchased empty so you can choose your own eyeshadows to place inside. They’re magnetic which is brilliant for someone that wants to change their colours on a regular basis, and makes them easy to replace when they’ve run out.
Inside the Pro Palette itself I have my 4 favourite eyeshadows. Shroom is the perfect base and for me doubles up as a highlighter too. I love to create that lifted look by applying it all over the lid, right up to the brows. I’ll then take my 217 Brush and apply Satin Taupe in the crease, and on the outer corners of my lids. In the middle I apply Shale, and then towards the inner corners I’ll use Naked Lunch. Once blended together I have the perfect day time look. MAC eyeshadows are buildable so I can easily take it from day to night by adding more shadow and really focus on creating a smoky eye. My chosen shades are gorgeous, really pigmented and last all day. They never crease on me, and I love how when I’m feeling lazy I can grab the 217 and apply Satin Taupe in the crease on its own. Having a Pro Palette and being able to pick your own colours is fab, but MAC have some amazing offers on pre-picked shadows at the mo. I currently have my eye on these Limited Edition Eyeshadow Palettes which include 9 eyeshadows for as little as £25.00. I can’t believe it really because my palette cost £46.50!
My two favourite MAC lipsticks are both very bright and pink. I would describe Bombshell as being a frosty cool shade of pink, however it also has a golden tone to it too, meaning it’s incredibly versatile in terms of who it suits. I have a warm undertone, but I feel like I can just about get away wearing this. Speed Dial is slightly darker than Bombshell and is a Cremesheen. Again this is a cool, blue toned pink with a bit of gold. Both lipsticks are very similar, and remind me of something Barbie would wear! I’m hoping to try Flocking Fabulous (a bright coral-red) and The Fashion Flock (a bright coral-pink) next, as I think these would suit my colouring even more.
The last product I want to talk about today is my MAC eyebrow pencil in the shade Lingering. I don’t use it all over my brows, but in combination with Benefit Gimme Brow to fill in any gaps. Whether I can use this all depends on what stage of the eyebrow tinting process I’m at. It’s perfect for when they are first done, but sometimes a bit too dark when they’re overdue. The other thing is that I’ve been changing the colour of my eyebrows more than my underwear recently! At least that’s how it seems. They’re really blonde naturally and I stopped tinting them for a while. Then I dyed them again and I was like ohhhh I just don’t know. Despite the fashion, it’s like I’ve suddenly gone off wearing them dark. Maybe natural is the the way forward? I really can’t decide.
