Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had a fab time, whatever you got up to last night! As we welcome 2016, it’s now time to share some of my favourites from the past year, starting with my everyday makeup. As usual, there’s some new editions, and of course some of my holy grail products that I just can’t live without. Here’s what I’ve been loving in 2015….
Primer | Benefit | POREfessional PRO Balm | Link
Yet again POREfessional PRO Balm is my go-to primer. A tube of this stuff seems to last forever, as a little really does go a long way. I usually apply it on my t-section, and I feel it’s like a second skin that sits on top of my pores, which instantly seem minimised.
Under Eye Concealer | L’Oreal | Lumi Magique | 1 Light | Link
Over the past year I’ve tried out a few under eye concealer/highlighters, and other than my trusty old YSL Touché Eclat (which I adore), L’Oreal Lumi Magique has been my absolute fave. I think it’s a bit of a dupe for Touché Eclat, and at a fraction of the price is a real bargain!
Concealer | Collection | Lasting Perfection | Fair | Link
Collection Lasting Perfection concealer has become a bit of a holy grail product for me over the years. Personally, I find that it’s the perfect consistency for my combination skin, and covers up spots and blemishes like a dream. It’s also buildable, which is a real plus.
Foundation | Chanel | Vitalumiere Aqua | 10 – Beige | Link
Another product that’s a regular in my makeup bag is Chanel Vitalumiere. It’s the perfect lightweight foundation that somehow covers imperfections quite well, yet seems more like a tinted moisturiser. It’s perfect for everyday use, although it has to be said, I can be a little lazy these days, often skipping foundation!
Powder | No7 | Perfect Light Loose Powder | 05 Translucent | Link
I use this powder to set my foundation, and give it the power to last all day. It also creates the perfect base for contouring with powder or cream products, and doesn’t become clumpy.
Eyeshadow Palette | Urban Decay | Gwen Stefani | Link
I’ve only had this palette a couple of months, but when it comes to the eyeshadow palettes of 2015, this one wins hands down. I’ve written a first impressions post, which includes swatches (here) if you would like to check it out.
Blusher | No7 | Natural Blush Tint| Honey | Link
I’m still totally loving this this blusher by No7. The shade ‘honey’ is really natural, and suits my pale skin tone perfectly. I use it in combination with a highlighter by The Body Shop, and a bronzer by Benefit as part of my daily contouring routine.
Highlighter | The Body Shop | Radiant Highlighter | Link*
A slightly newer edition to my makeup bag, I’ve been using this highlighter instead of my usual Soap & Glory Glow All Out (which is still amazing, and hasn’t been totally replaced!). I apply it to the top of my cheek bones (just above my blusher, which is above my bronzer!), down the sides of my nose, and sometimes the middle of my forehead too.
Lipstick | Lord & Berry | Absolute | Link*
Lord & Berry kindly sent me this lipstick, and at first I thought ‘hmmm, that’s not my shade!’. However, I gave it a chance, and actually I rather like it! It’s been one of my favourites over the past six months or so. I find it really moisturising, and love the the satin finish it creates.
Eyeliner | Lord & Berry | Supreme | Smart Blue | Link*
This is another product kindly sent to me by Lord & Berry. I’ve always liked blue or green eyeliners (used in combination with brown or black), just to give my eyes that extra bit of definition. I think it makes them pop just that little bit more. This eyeliner is cool though, because it’s actually quite dark, so I get the best of both worlds.
Mascara | Maybelline | Lash Sensational | Black | Link
Lash Sensational was probably the product that ‘wowed’ me the most in 2015. If you’ve tried Benefit Roller Lash, you will absolutely love this. I have both, and it has to be said I think this mascara is actually better (Sorry Benefit!), and of course it’s way cheaper. There’s only one mascara that I love as much as this one, and that’s Benefit’s They’re Real.
Eyebrow Definer | Benefit | Gimme Brow | Light/Medium | Link
Benefit Gimme Brow is still an absolute genius of an invention, and I’ve been using it loads in 2015. I love how it fills in all the little gaps in my brows without looking too false. If it’s a brow builder that you’re looking for, this is the one!
Do you use any of these products? Are there any that I’ve not mentioned, and maybe you think I should try?
