Ollie and I decided to go away over the Christmas period, and we’ve discovered our new favourite hotel! The Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek is an amazing resort situated right in the heart of Walt Disney World. If you’re planning a trip to Orlando or Disney World this post could be useful to you. We chose to stay at this hotel as an alternative to staying in a Disney owned resort. The Hilton was built on a piece of land in Disney World that they were unable to acquire, and is a Walt Disney World ‘Good Neighbour’ hotel. There is only one word to describe this hotel – WOW!
The Hilton boasts a lagoon-style pool with the most amazing lazy river, a water slide, several hot-tubs and the option to watch movies by the pool on Friday and Saturday nights. We loved the pool so much that we didn’t want to leave the hotel. Many days were spent sunbathing, followed by floating around the lazy river on rubber rings, swimming, getting in the hot-tub, followed by more sunbathing. Although it was Christmas time, we were lucky because Orlando experienced record highs of heat, so it was very hot and sunny. Take us back there now please!
Everyone at the Hilton is super friendly and they really can’t do enough for their guests. Complimentary coaches are available regularly to take people to the Disney parks and Downtown Disney. One day we wanted to go to some Premium Outlets. That was no trouble for the Hilton, they ordered a taxi to take us there and pick us up, complimentary of course. We didn’t need to hire a car during this holiday because the hotel provided the transport we needed. When dining at one of the hotel’s restaurants – Harvest Bistro we were given complimentary drinks and dessert. We also managed to get a really good deal for the most delicious buffet breakfast every day thanks to one member of staff.
If you’re considering staying in a Disney hotel I would consider booking the Hilton instead. Many reviewers (on Tripadviser) have concluded that the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek and the adjacent Waldorf Astoria hotel (which guests staying at the Hilton have access to) are as good as, if not better than any of Disney’s top hotels. At the time of booking our holiday the Hilton was only £100 more expensive per person than the cheapest Disney hotel I could find!
Have you ever stayed in a Disney hotel or any nearby?
