My obsession with makeup and skincare products is no secret, and I must confess there’s ridiculous amounts building up in my cupboards right now. Nonetheless, I’m always on the lookout for more, because a girl can never have too many, right? Recently I came across a brand that was a little unfamiliar to me, as I opened up the most adorable surprise package, full of beauty goodies by Mary Kay. Straight away I was intrigued to find out what they had to offer, and to discover a bit more about this unexplored American beauty brand. Here’s what I found…
Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover* | £13.00 | Link
Over the years I’ve struggled to find an eye makeup remover that fulfils my every need, but this one is an absolute gem. It seems to tick all the boxes. It’s gentle on my skin, quick and easy to use, leaves no residue, and best of all, it doesn’t sting! This is by far my favourite Mary Kay product of them all. When it comes to eye makeup removers, I think this could be the one!
Lash Love Mascara* | £16.00 | Link
Ask any girl if she wants bigger, bolder lashes, and I’m pretty sure she’s going to say yes. Lash Love Mascara is great for giving four times the usual amount of volume, and all whilst maintaining a natural look. It’s smudge proof, flake proof, and contains Mary Kay Panthenol-Pro Complex, which conditions and helps prevent breakage. As well as thickening up my lashes, and giving them a bit of a curl, I found this mascara helped to lengthen them too. The innovative design of the wand definitely seems to separate them out, and for that, combined with the above, I’m a massive fan.
Skinvigorate Cleansing Brush* | £35.00 | Link
The Skinvigorate Cleansing Brush is designed to cleanse your skin, whilst softening fine lines and wrinkles (if you have them), and improving the skin’s texture at the same time. Products are said to be absorbed more easily, and many people swear by using this type of brush, rather than cleansing by hand. Personally, I use this brush on my body, because as you know I’m an avid user of self tanning products, and these work absolute wonders in removing old tan from all those hard to reach places! I did go through a phase of using battery operated cleansing brushes on my face in the past, but my skin was a bit too sensitive for them, so now I opt to use my hands instead.
Botanical Effects Cleanser* | Normal to Dry Skin | £13.00 | Link
As I get older my skin seems to be changing a lot, and it’s definitely becoming much dryer. As my battle to combat dry flaky patches continues, products like this are a godsend to me. I’m currently keeping this in the shower to make sure I use it every morning, as well as in the evening. I follow up with a toner too, but I find having it to hand means I opt for this, rather than just a face wash alone (which I use as a pre-cleanser). It’s great for cleansing, whilst hydrating and nourishing at the same time. My skin feels so much better at the moment, and that’s partly because I’m cleansing with this.
Beauty Blotter Oil Asorbing Tissues* | £5.50 | Link
This is going to sound weird, but I had great fun testing these! I don’t know why, but I’ve never tried any oil absorbing products like this before, despite having combination skin, and suffering with the odd bit of excess oil at times. I would say I don’t suffer that much, but they really do work, and I decided not to stop at myself, handing tissues out to any of my friends willing to try them! It was actually quite shocking how much excess oil was coming off onto the tissues at times. I love how you can dab these over your skin, and it’s left looking so smooth. I’m keeping this pack in my bag from now on, so my friends and I can use it whenever we feel the need!
What do you think of Mary Kay? Is it a brand that you’re familiar with?
