Everyone loves to spoil their mum with Mother’s Day gifts, but the difficult part is finding that perfect present you know she’ll love. Whether you’re looking for something small and meaningful, or a gift that’s super indulgent; I’ve got you covered with my Mother’s Day Gift Guide….
Gold-plated Star Keyring: Aspinal of London | Mini Pink Heart Champagne Truffles: Charbonnel et Walker | Monogram Quilted Envelope Clutch: YSL | White Sandalwood Body Wash: Molton Brown | Naked 2 Palette: Urban Decay | Sicilian Lemon Candle: Yankee Candle | Morning Time Cleanser (courtesy of Eve Lom) | Heart & Key Charm: Michael Kors | Flowerbomb Perfume: Viktor & Rolf | Mother’s Day Pocket Selection: Hotel Chocolat | Dynamic Resurfacing Cleansing Collection: Elemis | Brut Rosé Imperial: Moet & Chandon
I’m sure most mums would love to recieve their favourite bottle of perfume on Mother’s Day. It’s also a great opportunity for them to try something new. If I was buying my mum perfume this year I would probably give her Flowerbomb by Viktor & Rolf. (She’s not getting perfume though – more about that later!). If you’re not 100% sure what fragrance your mum would like, why not give her a gift voucher? Click here to check out the Fragrance Direct Gift Certificate. Perfect if you’re leaving things until the last minute, as your mum will receive it by e-mail. No waiting around for delivery, and no charges for post and packaging.
For the beauty loving mum I can’t think of anything better that giving her some makeup. Personally I would say something like the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette would go down a storm. Urban Decay make really high quality products, and I have loads of their palettes, including Naked 2. Also I know a lot of people other than myself that rate their eyeshadows too. Even ladies in their 70’s. You really can’t go wrong.
Any mum that’s really into her beauty formulas would probably be chuffed to bits with some high-end skincare products. Just make sure that you get her skin type right, or you might find you’ve bought her something she can’t use! I’m a massive fan of the brand Elemis, and included in the pic above is their Dynamic Resurfacing Cleansing Collection. I chose this because I thought it looked like a really cute little set, and probably has something to suit all of our mums. I also included the Morning Time Cleanser by Eve Lom because I’ve been obsessed with this for the past six months or so. It’s got a bit of a funny smell to it, but the results are amazing. I know my mum would love it.
Bath & Body Products
A bit of a fail safe option, but all ladies appreciate bath and body products don’t they? In particular I’ve chosen the White Sandalwood Body Wash by Molton Brown, purely because I was lucky enough to be sent some of their body wash back along and it was gorgeous. I can’t imagine any mum being disappointed with something by Molton Brown.
My mum adores candles, especially scented ones, and I think a lot of women do. My fave are Yankee Candles, as I believe they have a much longer lasting smell than most. I’ve included the Sicilian Lemon one in this guide, but there are so many to chose from we’re spoilt for choice! Click here to view more. Maybe there’s one that’s just perfect for your mum.
I think accessories are always going to be a big hit with mum. Let’s face it there are so many fab items out there, you can spoil your mum with something really special. If I was going to buy my mum a bag it would be the Monogram Quilted Envelope Clutch by Saint Laurent. I think it’s absolutely gorgeous! I also discovered a couple of beautiful keyrings that might suit; the Heart & Key Charm by Michael Kors and the Aspinal of London Gold-plated Star Keyring.
If you’re looking for something a little more budget friendly, then how about some Charbonnel et Walker Mini Pink Heart Champagne Truffles or the Pocket Selection by Hotel Chocolat? I bet your mum would love to receive some yummy choccies on Mother’s Day.
And to go with the chocolates? I’ve chosen Moet & Chandon Brut Rosé Imperial. But even if you’re not feeling that flush, a bottle of Dino Prosecco would probably go down just fine. I mean, it would if I was a mum. Not that I am a mum, but I’m just saying.
As you can probably tell, I’ve been scanning the internet for a wide range of Mother’s Day gifts to try and accomodate all budgets. If you are struggling financially maybe you could make something, such as a sentimental card or her favourite biscuits. I think the most important thing though, is that we appreciate our mums all year round, whether it’s mothers day or not. I’m sure most will be happy if they get to see us on the day.
I’m treating my mum to a spa break this year. How will you be celebrating Mother’s Day?
