2015 was like the year of doom for me. It started off alright. I was working hard on the blog, getting fit with my friend Claudia, and generally having fun. But about 4 months in loads of things started to go wrong, and I had to forget about myself, and any resolutions I made. The fitness stopped, as did having fun, and I even had to give up blogging for a while. I don’t recall being in a negative frame of mind as such, but there were definitely some tough times. Luckily 2015 is done with, and I’ve created my new year’s resolutions for 2016….
Work on Myself
This year I want to work on myself, and focus on what’s good in my life. Although last years events were out of my control, I strongly believe I can create my own happiness. Life will always throw stuff at me, but it’s how I deal with it that counts. I need to learn to ask myself if there’s a solution to my problems. If the answer is yes, then I’ll solve them. If there’s nothing I can do, then worrying isn’t going to help. Of course, this is so much easier said than done! Still, if I’m feeling happy and healthy, then I’ll be in the best position to help others around me. I guess my main aims are to become stronger emotionally and physically, which leads me onto my second goal.
There’s not much to say here really, other than I’m very lazy when it comes to exercise. It takes a lot to motivate me, and I will literally find any excuse to get out of it. The crazy thing is, I enjoy working out once I’m actually doing it. I’ve started writing a personal online health and fitness journal in the hope it might give me the kick up the bottom I need! We’re barely into 2016, and I’m doing really well with this resolution. Just like everything else in 2015, my eating habits were pretty poor, but I’ve turned over a whole new leaf! I’ve been cooking everything from scratch, and doing a lot of forward planning, and food prepping. I struggle to eat balanced meals, usually missing out protein, but I’ve been making a massive effort to sort this out.
I love cooking and baking, but last year I didn’t get much time to do it. I managed to make some gingerbread men over Christmas which was cool, but back in the day (probably before blogging!), I used to be at it all the time. As I said previously, I’ve been making lots of meals from scratch over the past few weeks so long may it continue! You never know, I might take a few pics of some of the goods I make and feature them on the blog!
Improve my Photography
Talking of the blog, my final resolution for 2016 is to improve my photography. Like it or not, I believe images are a massive part of blogging. I know some bloggers disagree with this, but for me personally, a good photo always draws me in. I love taking pics, and the creativity that comes with it, so this is something I really want to pursue.
