Happy 2018! I hope you guys had a lovely break?
We had a brilliant time once poor Ollie got over food poisoning. He was struck down with it on Christmas Eve. By Boxing Day he felt a bit better so we spent the day with family at my mums. A few days later we went to Ollie’s dads and had a second Christmas with his sister which was nice. Then we headed off to Carey’s Manor Hotel & Senspa for a couple of days, including New Year’s Eve. It’s one of my favourite places to go so I was totally loving that!
Now it’s back to the day job so I’m posting some New Year’s resolutions and reflections on 2017….
Last year I had four New Year’s Resolutions:
(You can read that post here).
1. To up my Blogging Game by sharing more of my life. Previous to 2017 I had feeds full of beauty content and not a lot else. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still obsessed with products and that’s not about to change. However, it’s been lovely to show you guys little snippets of what I get up to and where I live. This type of media always seems to go down well so it’s something I’ll be continuing in 2018. (You can check out my lifestyle Insta here: @CarlySusanne and my new beauty Insta here: @CarlySusanneBeauty).
I’ve never been the most confident person when it comes to posting pictures of myself but this has been a massive part of upping my game. If there’s one thing I learnt in 2017, it was that people don’t really care what you look like, they just want to see who you are. In turn, focusing more heavily on lifestyle has led me to working with some really incredible brands. This has also pushed the boundaries considering I was the girl that wanted to shy away!
2. Worry Less and read a book that Ollie bought me called The Life-Changing Magic of Not Giving a F**K’, in a bid to do just that. If I’m honest it’s really funny and makes a lot of sense. Am I worrying any less? Probably not. I have anxiety so it’s something I have to live with but on a day to day basis I think I’m doing okay.
3. Focus on the People that Really Matter and make sure we visit relatives abroad. We managed to see one family member in Spain which was good but we never made it to Holland as originally planned. I think this year will definitely be the time to go. The one thing I am very grateful for is that I got to spend lots of time with my nan before she passed away in July 2017.
4. Look After my Own Happiness. There’s so much more I could write here but I’m not going to. Let’s just say I think I’m doing a pretty good job. If you’re wondering what I’m talking about then have a read of My New Year’s Resolutions for 2017.
Anyway, that’s a reflection on last year’s resolutions and here’s what I’m hoping to achieve in 2018:
Continue to Work with Amazing Brands
This time last year I had no idea I would be back to blogging full time and working with some of the most fabulous brands. In 2018 I’m aiming to take my blog to the next level and it’s exciting as I already have my fingers in lots of pies. Diversification is the name of the game and if you want to read about some of my achievements so far then check out this page here.
Get Fit and Lose that Extra Weight
Oh dear. Remember Health & Fitness Fridays? Well, it looks like they’re going to be back. I might not commit to writing a post every week but I’ll make sure I update fairly regularly for sure. I’m already on it and have lost a few pounds so fingers crossed I’ll hit my goal this time. We’ll have to wait and see. I’m currently using the Law of Attraction and I can totally visualise that bikini ready body looking all hot on the beach!
Learn to Sail Properly
It’s something I need to do as Ollie and I are planning on travelling and living on a boat. We’re saving as much as we can and have already started to recruit crew. Conformity is for those that like to play it safe and we don’t feel like that’s where our heads are at anymore.
To Keep Investing & Building my Property Fund
I’m hoping to buy my first apartment (or more preferably a villa) in Spain. We’ve already had a little look at some places in 2017 so I must continue to build my funds. Our plan is to head out there on a regular basis in bid to stay focused and keep our eye on the goal!
