Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! It’s officially the most romantic day of the year. At least it is if you like to celebrate these kind of things. Talking of romance, I often think that the latter and perfume go hand in hand. Fragrance is really important to me and on Valentine’s Day I definitely want to make sure I smell good!
My current favourite fragrance is YSL Black Opium Nuit Blanche. However, after wearing it regularly over a long period of time I’ve practically become immune to the smell. That’s why when John Lewis got in touch and asked me if I would like to switch up my signature scent I grabbed the opportunity with both hands. I told them about my current fave and they offered to help me find something new….

Based on my personal preferences, the John Lewis perfume buyers selected Tom Ford Vanille Fatale. This newly released fragrance is suitable for both men and women and has an incredibly sophisticated smell. Part of the Private Blend Collection, this seductive eau de parfum oozes sensuality with its rich Madagascan vanilla scent.
It’s the saffron and coriander that give this perfume a bit of a spicy edge. Then to balance it out there are notes of myrrh, olibanum, roasted barley, roasted coffee absolute, narcissus, frangipani, mahogany and suede. Personally I find that one spray is enough to last all day and all night. In fact, this intense, powerful perfume lingers on for ages and I can definitely smell it on myself. Yay!
As well as the fragrance I’m really appreciating the packaging too. The luxurious gold and brown bottle looks stunning alongside my collection and everything else on the shelf. Overall, this perfume gets a big thumbs up from me. It’s classy, empowering and luxe all the way through.
