The Body Shop | Vitamin E

The Body Shop Vitamin E range has been around for a long time. I remember carrying out pH testing on the cream, along with lots of other products when I was at beauty school. It was said to be one of the best, with a pH level of around 5.5 at the time. Just incase you haven’t a clue what I’m waffling on about – this is good, because we want our skin to remain balanced, at a pH of 5.5. With this in mind, it’s no wonder these products have been around for three decades now, and are considered best-sellers. Recently The Body Shop introduced a special limited edition Vitamin E skincare collection, and for the first time I got to use their Moisture Cream and Overnight Serum-in-Oil. I was really pleased about this, because back in the day I had a combination skin type, opting to use their Tea-Tree products instead. Of course, my skin still is combination, but because I’m a bit older now, the dry skin has become dryer, and I get a much better response from products like this on those areas. So what did I think?

The Body Shop Vitamin E Serum-in-Oil & Moisture Cream Blog Review

The Vitamin E Moisture Cream* comes in two sizes (100 ml and 50 ml), in a tub with a screw top lid. The ingredients include Wheatgerm Oil, which I’m absolutely obsessed with, and always have been. I love it, because it’s just so nourishing and hydrating for my skin. The smell is really fresh, and personally I don’t think you can get much better than a mix of Vitamin E and Wheatgerm. The texture of the cream is fairly light, and it absorbs into my skin really fast (so it obviously needs this!). I’ve been using it every day in the morning, after cleansing and toning, and it’s making my skin feel really soft.

After the first steps of my evening skincare routine I use the Vitamin E Overnight Serum-in-Oil* which combines oil and serum to replenish my skin overnight. More often than not, I’ll apply the Vitamin E cream over the top, to enhance the benefits even further. The product itself is in a glass bottle, with a pipette style applicator, for total ease of application. I apply 2-3 drops in my hand, rub them together, and then pat into my skin. Sometimes I’ll give myself a bit of a soothing face massage too. It all helps to push the product into my skin. I would say the smell of the Serum-in-Oil is exactly the same as the cream, and the texture is lightweight too. My skin is left really smooth, soft and hydrated, and is totally recharged in the morning.

As with most Body Shop products, both of these are ridiculously good value for money. The girly girl inside of me is totally loving the vibrant pink packaging, and they look really cool on my dressing table. I think the Moisture Cream is probably suited to dry skin types (hence why it wasn’t for me when I was a teenager), but it definitely suits my skin now. Boo to getting older! I think the Overnight Serum-in-Oil would suit any skin type though, especially as it’s to be used at night, and any excess will be cleansed away in the morning. Overall I’m impressed with both, and it looks as though I’ve introduced a couple of new products into my skincare routine.

The Moisture Cream can be purchased here for £17.00 (or £11.00 for 50 ml), and the Overnight Serum-in-Oil here for £13.00.Have you tried anything from The Body Shop Vitamin E range? If so, I would love to hear how you got on.
