I’m sure you’ve all seen the advert on tv? You know the one with Black Opium Nuit Blanche Eau De Parfum featuring British Model Edie Campbell. Well as you’ve probably guessed – this is my latest obsession from Yves Saint Laurent….

The packaging of this product is absolutely stunning. In fact, I love the box so much I’ve used it in a photo for a competition that represents the luxe life (you can read more about that here). It made perfect sense that I included Black Opium Nuit Blanche as I’ve literally been wearing it every day. The bottle itself is a black-red hue, in the iconic Black Opium shape and features loads of tiny silver stars. The black represents night, but it’s tinged with the pinky-white colour of dawn. Black Opium Nuit Blanche is all about adventure, energy and the ability to keep going throughout the night. Nuit Blanche is actually French for ‘White Night’, and means all-nighter, just like the arts festival that goes on throughout the night in Paris every year.
Black Opium Nuit Blanche is a seductive white coffee floral fragrance, with aldehyde at it’s heart. It’s the aldehyde that creates the sensation of all-night energy, a bit like an adrenalin rush. It also has white flowers and white musk which acts as a pheromone enhancer that adapts to your skin. Other notes include silky smooth rice vapour, bourbon pepper, orange blossom absolute, ultra-absolute vanilla and sandalwood essence. This sensual perfume completely captures the excitement of an endless night. It’s about being spontaneous, impulsive, maybe living a little dangerously and just generally being high on life. No wonder I like it, after all, I may have indulged in a few all-nighters in my time!
YSL Black Opium Nuit Blanche is available at YSL Beauty and is £47 for 30ml, £66 for 50ml and £87 for 90ml.
